Last year I went to Phuket for my vacation. I had a really great time. The island is wonderful, with lots of beaches and great places to eat seafood. I had to give some serious thought to the Phuket hotel I wanted to stay at, however, as I didn’t want to end up ripped off.
First of all I had to decide on what kind of budget I was going to set aside for my holiday and my Phuket hotel. I had to strike a balance between staying somewhere nice and saving a bit of money to spend on doing other things.
I quickly worked out what I wanted to spend, but then it came to choosing which part of the island I wanted to stay in. There are so many Phuket hotels that the choice was overwhelming at times, especially as the island is quite large and diverse.
I gave some thought to staying in Patong. I had heard that there are lots of Phuket hotels in Patong and that the area is an exciting beach resort with lots of nightlife.
I was, however, slightly concerned that I might be staying in a bit of a tourist trap in Patong.
I then discovered that there are lots of high-end Phuket hotels towards the northern and southern tips of the island. There are places such as Mia Khao, Nai Yang and Cape Panwa that are a little more expensive, but what you’re getting is some serious peace and quiet.
There was lots of research to do about my Phuket hotel, but I had a good idea of what I wanted so soon enough I was online and browsing through the websites of booking agents to read the reviews of the hotels and compare the best prices. All in all it was a painless process.
