The Iron Cactus In Austin, Texas

If you like drinking and Mexican food, then the Iron Cactus in Austin, Texas, is the place to be. This quaint Mexican restaurant is on Trinity street near the center of town on 6th street; it’s easily accessible and the place and staff are all inviting.

Start the night off with a classic Margarita. Delicious and excellently prepared. Then onto the food which is well prepared and served by the friendly staff

Everything is good. This is Mexican food at its greatest: simple and wholesome. Highlights of the menu were the tortilla soup and the fish tacos; highlight of the drinks menu is undoubtedly the astonishing array of tequila. I visit a fair number of Tex-Mex places and I must say I’ve never seen anything like this. If you’re struggling to choose what you want (and you’d be forgiven if you were) then ask the very helpful and friendly staff.

Perhaps the jewel in this particular Mexican restaurant’s crown is its roof top bar. Great views, better atmosphere, and, again, there are all those Tequilas to try.

I’m a big fan of Tex-Mex food and I like to think I know what I’m talking about in this domain. Believe me, then, when I say that the Iron Cactus is well worth a visit.
